I’m really glad to have another writer checking out freelancing…it was practically made for us!
You’ve got possibly the biggest freelance world out in front of you, so, to help you get the most out of this site, I want to sort some things out really quickly.
- Money: It’s possible to earn a really good living as a freelance writer, so don’t believe the lie that writers have to be broke.
- Opportunity: The world of writing for publications you know is only a small piece of the freelance writing puzzle. The writers making 6- and 7-figures and sustainable incomes? Usually aren’t in this space…BUT, there are ways to improve your experiences if this is where you want to focus your career.
- Your Career: Don’t think that you have to pick just one path. I’ve heard of poets and authors who supplement their income with (higher paying) writing like gossip blog posts, so remember, you’re likely building a blended career, and that’s a good thing!
- Authors: If you’re aspiring to write books, this site can help you use your writing skills to supplement that, but I’ll let you know out front that it won’t help you get published. (This isn’t my wheelhouse…if you want to ghostwrite though, stick around!)
