Getting Paid: What’s your minimum project size for a deposit?
Mine is $500 and I generally ask for 50% up front. Anything less than that, I can handle being screwed over on…I’ll be upset, but not sick-to-my-stomach upset. What’s yours?

I don’t accept projects w/out a deposit, I take 50% upfront unless it’s $300 or less then clients pay 100% upfront. I cannot afford to waste time potentially NOT being paid.
Exactly. I learned my lesson after being stiffed on a $500 project…wasn’t even a new client.
I agree with Stanley. 50% up front is the norm for me; a serious client wouldn’t have a problem with that.
