I was SO happy to run across this thread on Twitter.
It’s a review of the BlackFreelance Profile Workbook as well as the site overall. It was totally unprompted and unsponsored, but what made me happy is seeing the freelance challenges it answered. Here’s a look at the thread.
So I just spent a couple hours reading @BlackFreelance1 blog and website. I must say its one of the best rabbit holes I’ve fallen into. Each link provided in the workbook was filled with useful and actionable information that lead to other just as useful content. *Review Thread* https://t.co/Q3wct9esMz

This isn’t a full review or a long one. Just some thoughts from my initial readings and the couple weeks I have spent in and out reading articles. Tl;Dr it has been all good.

Backstory: I’ve been freelancing on my own for about a year but I don’t really count it as “freelancing” because before May I didn’t really have much clear direction on what I wanted to do and how to go about it.

This contributed to a couple months of constant research. Constant ebooks, constant courses, constant googling *how to break into freelance writing*
I’ve found some duds and some gems, tested a couple basic theories and booked clients on my own here and there.

I noticed that there is a ton of information out there, but there aren’t as many sources that provide actionable info that is relatable and digestible for freelance babies such as myself.
In short, the info was vast and very deep but it wasn’t sticking.

@BlackFreelance1 is really speaking to my need for step by step info on base level things that previously took me ages to figure out. So far some of the info about freelance biz I learned on my own, but I either worked backwards (and harder) or I worked in a circle

I have yet to read an article that I couldn’t use in some way right now or in the near future. Overall the blog is very valuable. So I went ahead and signed up for the academy which appears to have even more information for me to dive through.

This is getting longer than anticipated but I’m just happy to share. I’m a researcher by nature so I will always have my ear to the ground. But this gave me something a bit more unique and helpful than what I’ve encountered previously. I am excited to see what the academy brings

First off, I’m super thankful that anyone took the time to go through the site so throroughly, but I’m most excited that they dove into the workbook. I created it because I wish I’d had something structured when I started my freelance career and honestly want everybody who visits BlackFreelance to download their copy and get started themselves.
Big thanks to Freelancer Bae, and best of luck in your career!
Megan
